Recently in our house you might hear a string of phrases like this when cute alot doesn't get what he wants. YOU ARE SUCH AN IDIOT! YOU ARE SO STUPID! THAT IS MINE! GO AWAY! Where is my nice sweet boy?
So I started saying things like, I don't appreciate those kind of words dear. I know you are upset, is there a way you could talk in a positive way to help your brother or sister understand how you feel? ( all the while through clenched teeth, feeling really corny, and just wanting to scream) His response, errrrrrrrrr!!!! My response, do you need to go to your room and calm down? ERRRRRR, and then, yes MOM!.
Today was one of those great moments when your kids finally get it. Cute alot said to Smiles alot, YOU IDIOT! Smiles Alot says, in a very calm annoying voice, I don't appreciate that kind of language, you are always saying that to me and its not true. Cute alot looks at Smiles alot, shrug's his shoulders, laughs and says okay. Then they continue on in patronizing voices while speaking to one another. Is everything just a big game to them?
